Question: How are herbs grown

Keywords: ,

  1. Hi Jordan,

For you and me, ‘herb’ is just a word for plants that people grow for their flavour (to use in cooking) or as medicines. So we could call things like basil, tarragon, or ginseng ‘herbs’. (Mind you, botanists, scientists who study plants, have a different definition for what a herb is.)

So there are many different ways to grow or farm herbs — in your house, in a greenhouse, in a field, you name it — and many different herbs, just as there are many different ways to grow many different plants.

    Cheers,
    Edward
