Question: is climate change, changing the way our food grows and tastes???

  1. Hi Jazzi,

That’s a really tough question. There is a lot of research going on to see if trees grow differently under climate change, but at the moment, we really don’t know.

Some people think that more carbon dioxide in the air means that trees should be more efficient (because they breathe in carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen). There are some pretty cool experiments to test this, like ones where scientists take carbon dioxide coming from factories and pump it over trees to see how they behave.

The problem is the climate change affects lots of things other than carbon dioxide. For example, some places are wetter, some are drier, and most are warmer. Things things also affect how our food grows and tastes, and so it is hard to figure out what the impact of each individual thing is.
