Question: what your IQ level

  1. Hi jenna,

I’d really like to know actually. I have not done a proper test to find out! There are lots of free online IQ tests but these are not very accurate. 🙁

IQ does not determine your success I dont think anyway – someone might have a high IQ and no common sense for example and they would not be very successful at applying their ‘clever-ness’.

  2. Hi jenna,

I also don’t remember having done an IQ test. I agree with Kate that IQ doesn’t determine your success, because
    (i) different people consider ‘success’ to mean different things
(ii) intelligence is only ONE thing that CAN determine success (it also matters how well you get on with different people, how difficult the “success” you’ve chosen is to get, not to mention luck…)
(iii) IQ is only ONE way of measuring intelligence: people don’t all agree on what intelligence is.

A quick guide to the IQ scale, though, because numbers are no use unless you have some idea what they actually mean:

IQ scores are a number, with 100 being the “average” for all people. Higher numbers supposedly mean higher intelligence. About 68% of people have IQs between 85 and 115 (only 16% have an IQ of more than 115), and 95% of people have an IQ between 70 and 130 (2.5% have an IQ of more than 130).
