Question: are any of you involved in creating a water filtration system that can be used on sea water

    Do you mean a system that can make fresh water from sea water? No, not in my lab, but you know you could make one at home by distillation?

    Basically all you need is a bowl of water and a bit of gladwrap. If you put the gladwrap over the bowl of salty water, and wait for the water to evaporate and collect on the gladwrap, you will find that the water that has collected on the underside of the gladwrap is fresh water. Ok… so not enough to drink, but people have made pretty advanced systems for third world countries based on this basic set up – to get fresh water out of dirty water. These have a much better way of collecting the fresh water!
