Question: What type of environment is it where you work?what are your surroundings like?

  1. Hi lucychap11,

I now work in your typical office — but it’s a nice office with lots of light.

I used to work in an old and shabby office with less light, but that was in a beautiful building with gardens around it. Here’s a picture:

  2. I work in two different places, but most of the time I am at the waite campus at Adelaide Uni. Its a really nice area – lots of trees and open areas to sit in the summer. I have a nice office with a view across parklands and my labs are just nearby. All of the other people in my group are close by and they are a really great group of people who are fantastic to work with.

One or two days a week I work in the women’s and children’s hospital, which is a little less spacious but the area where I sit is very nice and the people I work with there are also fantastic.
I also have other people I work with who work other places, so often have meetings with people at their work places or over coffee.
I certainly don’t have time to get bored when I’m at work (wherever I am on any particular day), but it’s the people who really make it so great.

  3. I work in a great building in Darlinghurst in Sydney – we are spoilt be heaps of cafes and shops around. The building has 7 floors of laboratories and houses about 400 scientists 🙂

I work a little bit in the lab and a little bit in an office. I’ve put some links here to some photos and a video:

here is a photo of my Lab:

Here is a photo of me looking at some results – its a Western Blot, where we can see how strong a protein is within a cell after putting it onto this film and holding it up to the light. http://www.flickr.com/photos/64252303@N06/5847599483/in/photostream

And this is a photo of me a little later at my desk writing about the science!
