In a way… yes. But they do not understand all we think they do. For example, one of the most common stories people have about their dog is that if they get hoe and find they have messed up the house, the dog ‘obviously’ knows it has done something wrong because it cowers in the corner.
But in actual fact, dogs cant really connect what they do hours before with how you react when you get home. What they do is react to your MOOD when you arrive home and see the disaster!
