Question: At what age does your hair stop growing?

  1. Hi naomirosas,

I dont think it stops at any one age. I’m pretty sure hair length is determined by your genes, and partly your environment, and that is different depending on where is is on your body – compare your head with your arm for example!

But as you know hairs fall out all the time. Once a hair falls out, the follicle starts to grow a new hair again with keratin. I think as you age, the follicles become old too and your hair thins, and probably the follicles that DO try to grow a new hair aren’t very good at it so the hair is a bit shorter.
