Funny you should ask! Actually yes, I do like soccer but I’m not a very good spectator – I would much prefer to be on the field kicking the ball around and running amok 😉
And, just to put a scienc-ey spin on it, soccer is actually a lot like science! (“What!?” I hear you cry…) well, often in science it takes ages and ages to get a good result, just like in soccer, it can take a lot of kicking around before someone scores a goal. But then, when you so get that good result and solve your science question, or when eventually you kick that soccer goal, the crowd goes crazy and you run around with your shirt over your head. (no, not really… no running in the lab…;) But it is such a great feeling when your experiment works, its truly like kicking a goal.
