Of course! If you’re interested in how things work and want to find out new things, its a great field to go into.
One of the best things about science is that with a science degree you have a huge number of jobs to choose from. The training is all about problem solving, a skill that is valued in every profession.
Also, the future of civilisation will depend on advances in science and technology, so we need you!
You should go into whatever field/study/work interests you the most.
I find science very interesting, and very important, but of course I do: because I trained as a scientist. But people can be interested in (or good at) other things instead, and I think that there are many other fields/jobs that are equally important for the future of civilization (such as education, good government, and good ways of doing business).
But of course I hope you find science interesting and choose to find out more about it even if you don’t end up being scientists (and most of us don’t!).
