Question: what do you call the biggest star?? :-)

    The biggest star I know of is called the SUN! 🙂

    Kate solved the riddle, but of course you know that the sun is just the star that LOOKS the biggest (because it’s the nearest).

    There are stars, the not-so-imaginatively named ‘hypergiant stars’, that are more than 100 times as heavy as the sun, and ‘red giant’ stars that are less heavy but that are as big, measured across, as the orbit of Earth around the sun. (In fact, the sun will become a ‘red giant’ like this when it gets old and is about to ‘die’.)
