I’ve never really been that into video games… we had a dead-end in our street and lots of kids in the neighbourhood so I always seemed to be outside making mischief and getting filthy.
I found that making mischief outside and playing video games were not “mutually exclusive” (as we say in science)!
Lot of science involved in video games, actually, and I’m not just talking about SimCity and Civilization and so on. There may not be much deep thinking involved in PLAYING shoot-em-up (FPS) games, of course, but a lot of mathematics and physics ideas are involved in PROGRAMMING (writing) the games.
