I started to learn about the genetics of cancer cells during my PhD and have slowly moved more and more into the epigenetics of cancer cells.
The training you need to work on epigenetics is the same as the other areas of medical research – a science degree (or medicine / veterinary science) and then you can either work as a research assistant or start your own work in an honours, masters or PhD project. I have just chosen to focus my efforts in this area of research because I think its a really important and fascinating area.
Hopefully you are also interested in epigenetics and can learn about it here!?
