Question: Is there any other rarer neurological disorders with similar symptoms to multiple sclerosis?

  1. Hi keely1616,

I think that one of the problems with MS is that the symptoms can be quite varied and not very specific. That meant they can look like symptoms that people get with many other neurological disorders.

So, often it is not diagnosed until the other diseases that can be easily tested for are ruled out. Doctors and scientists are developing new ways to test for MS all the time though, which will help to sort out what symptoms are unique to people that have MS and therefore will help make the diagnosis more clear cut.
