The entire body gets cremated. I have never seen a human cremated but I have seen many many pets and horses be cremated. Also, people sometimes ask for the ashes back and are worried they are getting the right ones. Well, I can guarantee that every one I saw was absolutely the right ashes – the people who are in charge of this take great care in doing it right and with respect. 🙂
By the way, we are stardust — literally. Just about every atom in our bodies was once part of stars that lived and died billions of years ago, before the Sun was born.
