hi jaxterjohns,
Hepatitis B is a really complex disease and sometimes hard to predict. It’s caused by a virus that affects the liver and most newborn babies are vaccinated against it.
People with hepatitis B can sometimes recover fully and get rid of all the virus for life, or they can have some virus that hangs around for a long time. So – the answer to your question depends a lot on when the first infection occurred and if the baby could have been infected by the mum.
That’s probably a question your local doctor would know more about than me 🙂
