An astrologist is a sort of fortune teller, and has nothing to do (in modern times, anyway) with astronomers, who are the scientists who study galaxies, the shape of the universe, and other interesting things like black holes and supernovae (giant explosions caused by dying stars).
Astronomers are usually pretty clever people — which doesn’t mean that they don’t get things wrong all the time, though!
Edward has answered this really well already. I don’t think you need any course or degree to be an astologist but an astonomer would need at least a science degree.
The university admission scores have changed a lot since I was at school i think now the ATAR for science at Sydney Uni is about 84.
