It does seem that sometimes people act and behave as the much less intelligent species! And (in general) we are more intelligent and have a more developed brain structure. But, scientists that study monkeys say that we have very similar social patterns and social intelligence.
There’s a scientist called Maestripieri who does a lot of work with Rhesus macagues monkeys and has noticed that they live in complex societies that are a lot like ours. And I guess, there’s always the question of how do you measure intelligence? Is it just that we speak to eachother in complex language and use computers and are the most numerous species that sets us apart?
The monkeys live (mostly) in harmony in beautiful forest environments and manage to live sustainably. Maybe the monkeys are on to something…
